Garage Door Fails To Open or Close in Richmond

Richmond Garage Door Fails from Cables not rotating on Drums Properly.

A resident from Richmond tried to open their door to find that the cables were all wrapped around the torsion bar.  The cables were so badly wrapped around the torsion bar that the door became locked down and unmovable.   The proper behavior of a drum is for it to rotate freely without grinding against anything.  You will see in the picture that drum is tightly pressed against the end bearing plate causing the drum to lock and the cable to unwind from their properly set position.  Take note of the extremely poor install of the door assembly.  The older garage door assembly, mixed with a very tight garage creates a perfect storm for a problem.
